This striking and colorful kanzashi is composed of twenty silk hand-dyed momiji (autumn maple) leaves. Each flower has a gold mizuhiki at its center. Dangling gracefully below are five rows of 95 leaf petals on the shidare (falls). There are a total of 235 individual hand-dyed maple leaf components in this arrangement! It is mounted on a 10 cm (4") silver-plated, two-pronged hairpin. This kanzashi is typical of those worn by maiko during the fall season and would complement any traditional kimono.
